POST /v1/brands/{brand_id}/content-optimizations

Optimize an existing page

Improve a page the brand already publishes instead of writing a new one. The page is read as it is live, checked against what Google ranks for its keyword (subtopics the top results cover, People also ask, length) and against the article quality checks, and fixed at the optimize_level you pick. Only pages on the brand's own website can be optimized (400 validation_error otherwise), and a page that cannot be read fails the job before anything is charged.

Returns { brief_id, job_id } like content-briefs/generations: poll GET /v1/jobs/{job_id}, then read the brief. quality_report.enforcement.optimize holds the issues found, the sections changed, added or refused, and score_before and score_after. Publishing it to a connected site that holds the page updates that post in place.

Pricing: the credits of one article, charged to the brand's owner, refunded if the job fails. Starter.

Path parameters

Query parameters

  • dry_run boolean optional

Preview the call without executing it. Runs auth, scope, eligibility and body validation, then returns 200 with a dry_run object reporting the request-unit and credit cost plus a non-consuming quota snapshot. Nothing is debited, reserved, dispatched or mutated. An invalid body still returns 422.

    default: false

Header parameters

  • Idempotency-Key string required

Required with an API key, else 400 idempotency_key_required: a new value per operation (a UUID works). A retry with the same key and body within 24 hours replays the first response instead of running again. Ignored with dry_run=true.

Request body

application/json required
Type: ContentOptimizationCreate
  • source_url string required

The page to improve, on the brand's own website.

    max length: 2000

  • language, tone and audience (up to 200 characters each), blockedWords, tools and knowledge, as in a brief's content_context.

    Show fields

    Empty object (no properties).

  • conservative changes only what an issue asks for and adds sections, every other sentence stays; balanced may rewrite any section, keeping its headings and their order; full rewrites the page with the live page as a source it must use.

    default: `balanced`

  • reference_urls array of string

Up to 9 more pages or PDFs to read and cite, for example the pages AI cites for those prompts (GET /v1/brands/{brand_id}/prompts/{prompt_hash}/cited-pages).

    max items: 9

  • source_prompt_ids array of string

Report prompts the page should win back, so the citation uplift can say which came back.

    max items: 50

  • target_keywords array of string

Keywords the page should win; the first leads.

    max items: 20

Responses

Optimization job dispatched. application/json
Type: ContentBriefDispatched
  • brand_id string required

Poll GET /v1/jobs/{job_id} for progress. Equal to brief_id, since one article is one job.

  • object string

    Always content_brief.generation.dispatched.

    default: `content_brief.generation.dispatched`
