What a schema validator checks
Valid markup helps search engines read who you are and earns rich results. It is no shortcut to AI citations, but broken markup is noise they skip.
Every JSON-LD item
We read each ld+json block on the page and open @graph containers, so every Organization, Product, FAQPage or LocalBusiness is checked on its own.
Rules per type
Required fields are errors, recommended fields are warnings, and URLs and dates are checked for format. LocalBusiness subtypes like Dentist follow the LocalBusiness rules.
JSON-LD only
Microdata and RDFa are not read. Google recommends JSON-LD, and it is what AI crawlers parse most reliably.

Is this the same as Google's Rich Results Test?
No. Google's test says whether a page can show a rich result in Google. This checks the markup against schema.org rules for every type, including ones Google shows no rich result for.
Does valid schema get me cited by AI engines?
Not on its own: studies of AI citations find no clear lift from adding markup to pages already cited. It helps engines read your entity correctly, and broken markup is worse than none.
Why is a recommended field a warning, not an error?
The markup is valid without it, but the item is weaker: a LocalBusiness without a phone or hours, for example, gives search engines less to show.
Can I validate markup before publishing?
Yes. Switch to Paste code and paste the JSON-LD or the whole HTML. Nothing is fetched.
How many checks can I run?
Fifteen a day, to keep it free. The same page within an hour returns the same result at no cost.
