Connect Google Search Console to Rank Prompt
Bring the queries Google already shows you for into the same place as the AI answers that name you, and turn them into keywords to track and prompts to ask.
Google Search Console Rank Prompt reads
- Queries, clicks and impressions
- Average position and CTR
- Pages
- Sitemaps status
- URL inspection
Rank Prompt What it does
- Shows clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position by query and by page.
- Splits branded searches from the rest, and lists the queries that are trending up.
- Lists every query the site gets impressions for in Explorer, not only the top ones, says which you already track, and tracks the rest as prompts or keywords in one click.
- Reads your sitemaps’ status and inspects any URL for indexing problems.

Google Search Console setup in 4 steps
-
Step 1
Connect Google
In Integrations, Measure & Track, connect Google with the account that has the Search Console property. Google asks for read-only access to Search Console and Analytics; a page that needs only one of them asks only for that one. Business Profile connects on its own, with the same account.
-
Step 2
Allow read access to Search Console
On Google’s consent screen, allow access to your Search Console data. Rank Prompt asks for the read-only scope, so it cannot change your property.
-
Step 3
Pick the site
In the Google Services settings, choose the property under Search Console Site.
-
Step 4
Use the queries
Open Website analytics for clicks and positions, and Explorer, Search Console for every query Google has for the site, not only the top ones, to track as keywords or prompts.

These are the messages the app shows, word for word, and what fixes each one.
-
Connect with the same Google account used before, or disconnect Google first to switch accounts.
A brand keeps one Google account for Analytics, Search Console and Business Profile. Connect with the account you used before, or disconnect Google in Integrations, Measure & Track and connect again with the other account.
-
Permission denied for GSC site 'https://yourbrand.com/'. Please reconnect or select a different site.
The Google account you connected cannot see that property. Add it as a user in Search Console, or reconnect with the account that owns it.
-
Search Console: Google is rate limiting requests right now. Try again in a few minutes.
Google’s quota ran out for the moment. Refresh a little later; nothing is lost.
-
Search Console: Google did not answer in time. The next refresh will retry.
A temporary Google outage. The next refresh fills the gap.
-
Your Google connection needs to be reconnected.
Connect Google again from the Google Services card, with the same account.
Does Rank Prompt need write access to Search Console?
No. It reads with Google’s read-only Search Console scope, and you can revoke the access from your Google account at any time.
How are Search Console queries used for AI visibility?
The questions people already type into Google are a good sign of what they ask AI assistants. Explorer lists every query Search Console has for the site, with its clicks, impressions and position, marks the ones you already track, and tracks the rest as prompts or keywords, so your AI reports and your Google data describe the same demand.
Does it show AI Overviews clicks?
Search Console counts clicks from Google AI Mode (AI Overviews) inside regular web search results. Rank Prompt tracks whether AI Overviews name you in its own reports, on the same prompts every week.
Which plan do I need?
Connecting Search Console works on every plan, free included.
