- An OpenAI Ads account with the ads you want to manage.
- An Advertiser API key from ads.openai.com. It starts with
sk_ads_. - Optional, to track conversions: your Measurement Pixel ID and a Conversions API key, both from your OpenAI Ads dashboard.
OpenAI Ads setup in 5 steps

Step 1
Open Connect OpenAI Ads
In Integrations, Reach Customers, click + on the OpenAI Ads card. The dialog lists what Rank Prompt will do with your key.

Step 2
Create an API key in OpenAI Ads
Sign in at ads.openai.com with the account that manages your ads, open Settings, API keys and click Create new key. OpenAI shows the key once, so copy it before closing the page.

Step 3
Paste the key
Click I have an API key and paste it. Rank Prompt checks it with OpenAI and loads your ad account name, currency and time zone; if the check fails, nothing is saved. The key is stored encrypted and used only when Rank Prompt calls OpenAI for you.

Step 4
Add conversion tracking (optional)
Add your Measurement Pixel ID and Rank Prompt generates a ready-to-paste tracking snippet for your site, so conversions show up next to your ads. Add a Conversions API key too to forward events a browser cannot track, like in-app purchases, refunds and offline sales.

Step 5
Manage your campaigns
Open OpenAI Ads to see the synced campaigns, create chat-card ads with AI-written copy and read their performance.
OpenAI Ads: errors and fixes
These are the messages the app shows, word for word, and what fixes each one.

OpenAI didn't accept that key. Double-check it and try again.
Copy the whole key again from Settings, API keys at ads.openai.com; it starts with
sk_ads_. If the key was deleted in OpenAI Ads, create a new one. Nothing was saved, so just paste the right key. -
Pixel IDs are 1-64 characters and can include letters, numbers, underscores, or hyphens.
Copy the Measurement Pixel ID exactly as your OpenAI Ads dashboard shows it, with no spaces or other characters.

Target URL must use HTTPS.
Chat-card ads only link to https pages. Change the destination to its https address.

Chat-card ads need a destination URL.
Add the page the ad should send people to.

Copy includes superlative or comparative claims; consider adding evidence.
A warning, not a block: claims like “the best” or “cheaper than” should be backed by evidence on the landing page, or softened.

Title is too short.
Give the ad a title of at least three characters.
Where do I get an OpenAI Ads API key?
At ads.openai.com, under Settings, API keys, with the account that manages your ads. The key starts with sk_ads_ and is shown once, so copy it when you create it.
Is my key safe?
It is stored encrypted and only used when Rank Prompt calls OpenAI on your behalf. It is never shown back to you or shared.
Does Rank Prompt charge my ad budget?
No. You bring your own OpenAI Ads account and budget; spend is billed by OpenAI. Rank Prompt manages the campaigns and reads their numbers.
