Rank Prompt What it does
- Publishes a post now, schedules it for a date, or saves it as a draft for review in Ghost.
- Fills the meta title, meta description, social cards and excerpt of every post.
- Puts the article’s JSON-LD in the post’s code injection, next to the Article schema Ghost already prints.
- Copies every image to your Ghost site, so a post never depends on another server.
- Updates the same post when you publish again, and removes it when you take the article down.
What it cannot do
- Posts are never emailed to your members from Rank Prompt.
- Ghost cannot serve an IndexNow key of ours, so Bing and the other IndexNow engines find new posts on their own crawl.
- One Ghost site per brand; a second site replaces the first.
Before you start
Plan From Starter
- Ghost 5 or later on a public https address, Ghost(Pro) or self-hosted.
- The Owner or an Administrator of the Ghost site, to add a custom integration.
- The Admin API key of that integration and the site address you open Ghost Admin on.
Ghost setup in 4 steps

Step 1
Add a custom integration in Ghost
In Ghost Admin, open Settings, Integrations, click Add custom integration, name it Rank Prompt and copy the Admin API key: two parts joined by a colon, not the Content API key.

Step 2
Open Integrations, Publish Content
In Rank Prompt, open Integrations, then the Publish Content tab. On the More platforms card click +, pick Ghost and click Continue.

Step 3
Paste the site address and the key
Enter the Site address without
/ghost, paste the Admin API key and click Continue. Rank Prompt reads the site and its staff.

Step 4
Choose the author and connect
Pick the staff user Ghost shows as the author of every post, then click Connect. From any article, Publish offers your Ghost site: publish now, schedule a date or save a draft.
Ghost: errors and fixes
These are the messages the app shows, word for word, and what fixes each one.

The Ghost address must start with https://, since the Admin API key is sent with every call.
Enter the https address of the site.

This is not a Ghost Admin API key. Copy the Admin API key of a custom integration (Settings, Integrations): two parts joined by a colon, not the Content API key.
Copy the key from the custom integration you added, under Admin API key.

Ghost refused the Admin API key. Copy it again from Settings, Integrations and reconnect.
The key was changed or the integration deleted. Copy the current key and paste it in the connection settings.

This Ghost key cannot manage posts. Use the Admin API key of a custom integration.
Use a custom integration’s Admin API key, not a staff token or the Content API key.

This Ghost site is private (Settings, Access), so search engines and AI assistants cannot read what you publish until it is made public.
In Ghost, open Settings, Access and make the site public.

Wait a minute and publish again.
Does Rank Prompt work with Ghost(Pro) and self-hosted Ghost?
Yes, with Ghost 5 or later on a public https address. It connects through a custom integration’s Admin API key, which you can delete in Ghost at any time.
Will my members get an email for each post?
No. Posts published from Rank Prompt are never sent as a newsletter. Email them from Ghost if you want to.
What happens to a post I deleted in Ghost?
The next time you update the article, Rank Prompt publishes it again as a new post and the publish window says so.
Which plan do I need?
Publishing to Ghost starts on Starter at $49 a month. The article generation it publishes costs 10 credits per article.
