What is a Google AI Overview?
The AI written summary Google shows above the search results for many questions, with links to the pages it drew from. Many searchers read it and never scroll to the links.
Why does a search show an overview one day and not the next?
Google decides per search and changes it often, by market and by phrasing. That is why one check is a snapshot and tracking the same keywords over time tells you the trend.
How do I get cited in an AI Overview?
Answer the question in the first lines of a page, keep the page crawlable and fresh, and get mentioned on the sites the overview already cites. Ranking in the top ten helps, but it is not enough on its own.
Is this the same as AI Mode?
No. AI Mode (AI Overviews) is Google's conversational search, with its own sources. The SERP checker shows both for one keyword.
