It cites pages that already rank
Google says AI Overviews run on its core ranking systems, so the pages it cites usually already rank for the search. Ranking helps, but it does not guarantee a citation.
What it means for you
- Named without a link is a gap If the AI Overview names you but cites someone else, that is the citation to win next.
- AI Overviews and AI Mode differ They can cite different pages for the same query, so track both.

What is an AI Overview tracker?
An AI Overview tracker checks Google results for your keywords and records when an AI Overview appears. Rank Prompt also shows whether that AI Overview named your brand or cited your page, next to your organic position.
How many keywords can I track?
Up to 10 per brand on the free plan, 25 on Starter, and up to 500 on higher plans.

Is an AI Overview the same as Google AI Mode?

Will ranking first get me into the AI Overview?
